How can I get a library item that someone else has checked out (aka "a recall")?
If someone else has a library item checked out that you wish to use, you can use the library catalog to "recall" the item. The other patron will have up to 7 days to return the item.
After it is returned we will hold the item at the library circulation desk for you and you will be notified by email when it is available to pick up.
To place a recall request, follow these steps:
- Search for the item in the library catalog
- Click on the title of the item to view the record
- Click on "Make a Request" in the action bar on the right hand side of the screen
- Log in with your WesID.
- Choose "Recall an item"
- Click the Submit button
You will be notified by email when the item is available to pickup at the library circulation desk.
You can also check the CTW Consortium Catalog
to see if the item is available at Trinity or Conn College; if it is, you can make a CTW request for the item (in the record for the item, click the "Place a Request" option and log in with your Wes ID and last name).
